OUR PROCESS

While each water damage restoration is unique, we will typically follow a general process to restore order back to your home or business. Water mitigation and water restoration can be performed separately but are most often used together for a complete restoration.

Each water damage remediation falls into a specific class and category depending on the circumstance. In order to create an actionable plan, all water damage restorations will be classified accordingly to determine technique and equipment needs.

Damage is only in part of a room and has absorbed asmall amount of moisture.

An entire room has been damaged.

Insulation, ceilings, walls
and flooring have been absorbed.

WATER DAMAGE CATEGORIES

Water is clean and from sanitary sources including toilets, faucets, broken pipes.

Water is considered “grey” and contains contaminants like detergent or urine. Sources include dishwashers, washing machines, toilet overflows.

Water is considered “black” and contains unsanitary water like sewage, flooding from rivers or streams, and bacteria that can cause disease or death.

WATER MITIGATION

In order to prevent further damage, we will use water mitigation methods and equipment to minimize loss. This can also include removing affected belongings and excess water and securing the home structurally and internally to prevent physical harm or theft. The property will be completely ventilated and specialized equipment will be used to assist with drying and dehumidification. All contents will be examined and sorted for salvageable retainment. Contaminated furniture and materials, like drywall and flooring may need to be removed and salvageable items will be cleaned and sanitized for use again.

WATER RESTORATION

The focus of water restoration is on reconstructing and rebuilding the property. In this process, structural elements will be rebuilt, including the replacement of walls and flooring and repairing any roof damage. Mold removal is also one of the most important parts of water restoration. Mold and mildew thrive in wet, humid environments and can develop within hours. Mold presents health risks and can deteriorate structural material if left unaddressed. Air quality testing is another incredibly important part of the process and will confirm the environment is safe to return to.
